Streetlight lens It has a wide range of applications in real life; however, since this product has a relatively short shelf life, it often needs to undergo annual inspections to ensure safe use. So, can streetlight lenses be replaced with LED lamps for these inspections?
Streetlight lenses cannot be replaced with LED lamps during the annual inspection, because the basic requirements for streetlight lenses are: after modification, the luminaire must not compromise its normal operation and should meet relatively low‑brightness standards. By contrast, the annual inspection of LED lamps is comparatively straightforward.

Streetlight lens The annual inspection primarily includes the following two items:
Conduct annual inspections to test light intensity. National regulations specify only a lower limit, with no upper limit. The low-beam minimum is not less than 1,050 lumens, and the high-beam minimum is not less than 1,450 lumens.
The maximum request depends solely on the safety of oncoming drivers. Of course, if you modify the streetlight lens and add components, there will be no light scatter, nor will it compromise the safety of oncoming drivers. Therefore, it is legal and can pass the annual vehicle inspection.
In fact, the lens LED lighting unit is very simple and can be replaced directly.
After that, if you simply replace the headlight lens with an LED unit, the low-beam performance can be quite good. However, for the high beam, since the original reflector bowl was designed to optimize halogen‑lamp reflection characteristics, once an LED bulb is installed, the high‑beam pattern tends to spread, resulting in only limited improvement in performance. At present, the most ideal solution is a combination of xenon‑type lenses.
Generally, during the annual inspection of streetlight lenses, the first step is not lens testing but a visual examination of the vehicle’s exterior. This is relatively straightforward and allows for considerable leeway in how it’s conducted. Headlight modifications are typically identified at this stage. Inspectors will photograph the vehicle to check for any irregularities in its appearance. Because many models exhibit subtle differences in styling across trim levels, and inspectors often lack the patience to scrutinize every detail, numerous minor alterations—such as side steps, roof racks, or front and rear bumpers fitted to SUVs—can easily go unnoticed. We’re also talking about bulb replacements. Changes that are readily apparent, like a shift in body color or noticeable modifications to the vehicle’s surroundings, remain easy to spot.
If it officially begins to proceed Streetlight lens During the annual inspection, the testing process is considerably simpler. Since the lens detector measures the luminance of light refracted by the lampshade, two movable sensors can automatically locate the refracted luminance and perform the assessment based on both the refracted luminance and the degree of refraction. As long as the luminance of the light refracted by your street‑light lens meets the required standards, the fixture may continue to be used for that year; any variations in luminance that remain within the acceptable testing range will pass all relevant checks.
